On the morning of 17th December, SLU held a video conference with Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in America as scheduled. The meeting aimed at further discussing the co-teaching program proposed to apply for ratification of Ministry of Education in Chia, and enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two universities.

President Carlos Vargas, the Vice Presidents for teaching, scientific research and student affairs, and Director of International Cooperation of SEMO attended the video conference. President of SLU Liu Jun, Director of International Exchange and Communication Office Zhu Yingjie, Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Ren Jinyu, Dean of Automation and Electrical Engineering School, Gao Hongwei, Dean of Information Science and Engineering School, Zhang Deyu and other teacher representatives also took part in the meeting.

President Liu Jun specifically introduced the basic information and international programs of SLU at the beginning of the meeting, and she said that discussion on the co-teaching program would be the first step for two universities to build a friendly and sincere relationship, and also an opportunity for starting wider and deeper cooperation in the future. After that she invited the delegation from SEMO to pay a visit to SLU in the near future. Then Director of international Office also shared the information of SEMO.
March in 2019 witnessed the beginning of discussion and deliberation of co-teaching programs in automation and network engineering with the initial agreement reached. In June, two universities compared and contrasted the courses in each major and drew a preliminary agreement. This video conference further discussed the details about sending teachers and courses in the co-teaching programs and in the preliminary agreement, and concluded by reaching an agreement from both universities to further discussion about the program.
